Student Rural Health Careers Forum

    11:00 am - 12:30  pm

The purpose of the Forum is to expose students to the many growing careers paths available in the rural health arena and how they are not all related to medicine or direct patient care. 
Where: Mississippi Room of the Student Center at SIU Carbondale
An informal lunch buffet will immediately follow the Forum to give attendees and panelists an opportunity to network.

IRHA Awards Scholarships for Spring Semester 2018

Because of the growing demand for HIT-Health Informatics and Medical Billing & Coding experts, as well as the great shortage of mental health professionals in rural areas, the IL Rural Health Association (IRHA) awarded $12,000 this year in the various disciplines this year to students with a strong interest and intent in working in a rural area.  Special thanks to Gibson Area Hospital, who sponsored 2 behavorial health scholarships and AHEC, who sponsored 1 social work scholarship.
