Because of the dire shortage of dentists, pharmacists and behavioral health specialists in rural Illinois, each Janaury IRHA awards scholarships to students, who plan to practice in an medically underserved rural setting Illinois. Applications are open Oct-Nov and selections are made in December for spring semester.
Dental Scholarship Criteria: 3rd or 4th year dental student, raised in rural Illinois, with an intent on practicing in an underserved Rural Dental Shortage Area in Illinois, upon graduation. $1500 Each Sponsored by Humana
Pharmacy Scholarship Critria: 4th year pharmacy student raised in rural Illinois, with an intent on practicing in a Medically Underserved Area upon graduation. $1000 Each
Behavorial Health/Social Work Criteria: Graduate Level Behavioral Health or Social Work student, raised in rural Illinois, with an intent on practicing in Mental Health Shortage Area Illinois upon graduation. $1000 Each
